The short version

moldr is a Mac app that runs on your device. Your layouts, shortcuts, and settings stay on your Mac — moldr never uploads them. It reaches the internet in only two cases: to validate your license key and to check for app updates. The app has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Our website uses a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that can't identify you — details below.

What stays on your Mac

Your molds (saved window layouts), snap shortcuts, and preferences are stored locally on your device, in:

• ~/Library/Application Support/moldr/ — your molds and snap definitions
• macOS user defaults — your app preferences (shortcuts, toggles)

These files never leave your computer. moldr does not upload, sync, or back them up to any service.

Permissions moldr uses

Accessibility

moldr uses the macOS Accessibility API to read window positions and to move and resize windows. This is what lets it capture and restore your layouts. All of this happens locally; window information is never sent anywhere.

Automation (Apple Events)

To restore your content — reopening Finder folders, browser tabs, and re-running terminal commands — moldr sends Apple Events to those apps on your Mac. macOS asks for your permission the first time. These events stay on your device.

Analytics

The app. The moldr app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It builds no profile of you and has no way to identify you.

The website. Our website (moldr.app) uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It counts page views and where visitors came from, in aggregate — it sets no cookies, does not track you across other sites, and cannot identify you individually. It also records an anonymous count when a visitor clicks Download or Buy, so we can see how well the site works. No personal data is collected.

Purchases

moldr is sold through our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record and processes your payment securely. We never see or store your card details. The provider collects only the billing information needed to complete the sale and to charge any applicable taxes.

Licensing

When you activate your license, moldr sends your license key and a device name (your Mac's name, e.g. "Jaeyoon's MacBook Pro") to Lemon Squeezy. This is what lets one license work on up to 3 of your Macs and lets you deactivate a Mac later to free a slot. That license key and device name are the only things moldr transmits — your molds, snaps, and window information never leave your Mac.

Software updates

moldr checks moldr.app for new versions so it can update itself. That request carries only your current version and standard network information (such as your IP address) — none of your personal data or layouts.

Diagnostics

If you choose to share crash reports through Apple, those reports are handled by Apple and may include technical information about a crash. moldr itself does not transmit diagnostics.

Children

moldr is a productivity utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
